Fr. Jim Konicki
Fr. Jim was ordained Deacon on April 2, 2005 by Rt. Rev. Kazimierz Grotnik at Blessed Virgin Mary of Częstochowa parish in Latham, New York after receiving the various minor orders at St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Cathedral in Scranton, Pennsylvania. As deacon, Fr. Jim served in parishes throughout the Central Diocese. On December 6, 2014, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Mikovsky at St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Cathedral in Scranton, Pennsylvania. His first Holy Mass was celebrated on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Schenectady, New York.
As a priest, Fr. Jim was incardinated into the Central Diocese and appointed administrator of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. He was installed as Pastor on June 2, 2019 by Very Rev. Marian Pochiecha, Administrative Senior of the Mohawk Valley Seniorate in the presence of Rt. Rev. Bernard Nowicki, Ordinary of the Central Diocese.
Fr. Jim serves in various capacities in the Church and Diocese. He was appointed National Vocations Director and to the Polish National Catholic – Orthodox Dialog Commission following the XXV Holy Synod of the Polish National Catholic Church in 2018. Since 2016 he has served as chaplain for the annual Kurs Youth Encampment. He was appointed Diocesan Youth Director, is a member of the Diocesan Council, and is a member of the Diocesan Enlivening sub-commission and review panel.
Fr. Jim’s interests include cooking, genealogy, civics, travel, and Polish history, language and culture. He has served on the Board of numerous not-for-profit and charitable institutions. He is married to Renee (Rogers) Konicki and has three children, Adam Joseph, Victoria Rita, and Stephanie Margaret.
