Ustronie, literally translated as “the secluded place,” was Bishop Francis Hodur’s get-away. It is where he went for solitary prayer, study, and work. At Ustronie he wrote many of his works. Ustronie is where he welcomed many trying to find their way and where he offered them comfort and solace.
The Ustronie home is a well preserved museum. It was originally located at the peak of the property where a foundation still exists. It was subsequently moved down the property so that people might have access to it.
